The closure compensation is intended to compensate companies whose business has suffered as a result of the closure orders related to the attempt to restrain the coronary pandemic and the prohibition or significant restriction of the public events. This time the compensation applies to closures imposed during the period from 21 December 2021 to 28 February 2022 or to the prohibition of holding public events. The closure compensation is intended for a company whose premises have been kept closed to customers, in whole or in part, between 21 December 2021 and 28 February 2022, pursuant to an act or order of the authority relating to the management of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the closure compensation is intended for public events that were prohibited between December 21, 2021 and February 28, 2022. Completely or partly closed companies can also apply for cost support, provided that the conditions for support for the company are met. The 6th application round of so called cost compensation will be opened on Tuesday, April 26, 2022.

The closure compensation is intended for companies that were ordered to close

1. Completely: The company’s premises were completely closed in accordance with section 58 g § of the Communicable Diseases Act. The municipality or regional government agency has ordered the closure of, for example, sports facilities and gyms, public saunas, spas and swimming pools, dance venues, choir singing and amateur theater facilities, amusement and theme parks, indoor playgrounds and venues, and shopping centers.

2. In part: Restaurant establishments which, due to restrictions, have not been able to conduct their business. The restaurants, which had to be closed to customers, such as dinner restaurants and nightclubs, is considered partly closed. If the company had a take-away sale after 6 p.m., the sale is included in the portion of the closed business.

3. For organizers of public events: If the ban has caused cancellation of the public event. Restricting the number of audiences to such a small size that it was not possible to organize the event is also equated with banning a public event.
